Stewart directed documentaries for Channel 4 and the BBC before writing and directing his first feature film, FAST FOOD, starring Douglas Henshall and Gerard Butler. The film was released theatrically and featured in the London Film Festival.
The success of FAST FOOD led to him writing and directing the $5m Sky Pictures feature film KISS KISS (BANG BANG) starring Stellan Skarsgard, Chris Penn and Paul Bettany.
He directed BLUE MOON RISING, an epic feature documentary about a season at Manchester City football club. The film was released to critical acclaim. The BBC production of Spooks Interactive he directed won a BAFTA and the Grand Prix at Cannes.
Stewart often specializes in sports-related commercials, working with ‘A’ list talent like Roger Federer, Tiger Woods, Jess Ennis-Hill and Oscar Pistorius. He directed the highly successful C4 promo films for the 2012, 2014 and 2016 Paralympic Games and the 2016 Olympics.
He combines commercials, brand films and feature films with TV drama, recently writing and directing THE CRUISE starring Jane Horrocks and Jason Watkins, for the celebrated Sky Arts series Playhouse Presents.
Stewart is in development on feature films RICHMOND HILL, RESPIRO, THE TURTLE and KNUCKLEBALL.
